Diamond State Recycling Corp. is Delaware’s largest processor of scrap metal. The business was founded in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1991 by Herbert Sherr, a second-generation scrap recycler who had been an integral part of his father’s business for many years. By 1999, Herb’s son and materials buyer, Scott Sherr, took over full responsibility for managing the business. (Herb passed away in 2001.) Today, Scott is a third-generation scrap recycler and president of Diamond State Recycling.

Scott has built a reputation as a true partner in construction, dismantling, research and manufacturing industries, guiding his customers on how to prepare and separate their scrap materials and offering the highest returns for scrap metal. Scott is a steward of the environment, working with private and government entities to ensure that scrap metals get reused rather than added to a landfill, thereby reducing the need for raw, mined metals

Diamond State Recycling buys scrap ferrous and nonferrous metals—iron, steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, lead, aluminum, aluminum cans, and motor vehicle/industrial (lead acid) batteries. All materials must be driven in to the scrap yard; no walk-ins or shopping carts accepted. For your safety and ours, our scrap yard is under 24-hour camera surveillance. Theft raises the cost of doing business and puts integrity into question. Please, do not bring us stolen materials.
